Job summary

Milwaukee Tool's Rapid Innovation Center is seeking a Prototype Machinist B to craft new prototypes and support product development with precision machining. You will engage in setup, programming, and operation of CNC equipment, contributing to data collection and decision-making in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes strong math skills, hands-on machining, and the ability to thrive in an innovative culture that values ownership and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree required or minimum 3 years experience in a related field.
  • Basic CNC programming G&M code.
  • Experience with Siemens and or Fanuc machine controls.
  • Prior experience of setting up and programming CNC equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of Solid Works, Mastercam, Tool Studio, Vector Cam or equivalent.
  • Must have R&D mindset and be able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong proficiency in math skills to accurately calculate machine settings and adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machines to shape parts to engineering dimensions and finishes.
  • Use precision inspection equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Review work requests and blueprints to determine methods and sequences.
  • Maintain safe operations and follow procedures while working with machines.
  • Collaborate with a team to drive innovation and meet project goals.

The Rapid Innovation Center Machinist B plays a crucial role in providing innovative solutions to some of the most challenging machining requirements in industry that support our product development teams. This role ensures that prototypes are made accurately, efficiently and timely to aid in data collection and decision-making, enabling Milwaukee Tool to maintain its competitive advantage.
