Job summary

Kalmar is seeking an on-site Engineer in Ottawa to perform engineering, documentation, and prototype assembly for New Product Development of both Diesel and Electric powered Terminal Tractors, according to customer needs and internal requirements.

You will install mechanical and electrical components, assemble chassis and frames, fabricate brackets, and assist manufacturing engineering with tooling maintenance.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems related to mobile equipment.
• Experience with reading engineering drawings, layouts, sketches, schematics, and task lists.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Install prototype mechanical and electrical components on New Product Developments.
• Assemble chassis, body framework, brackets, and wiring harnesses for prototypes.
• Support manufacturing engineering with tooling maintenance and fabrication.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Liaise with product improvements through assembly lines and test new products.
