Job summary

TokenBrickLabs, a Seattle-based blockchain studio, is hiring a Protocol Engineer to own the on-chain protocol layer, including permissioned token mechanics, identity rails, and lifecycle events.

You will work between architecture and product engineering, shipping protocol features, writing specs, and preparing releases for audits while collaborating with backend, legal, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of protocol or smart-contract engineering in production.
• Strong Solidity (or Move/Rust) with Hardhat or Foundry, including fuzzing and invariant testing.
• Deep familiarity with token standards and permissioned models (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-3643 / T-REX or equivalent).
• Understanding of upgradeability, access control, and operational security (multisig, timelocks).
• Ability to write clear protocol documentation and work with auditors.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the core issuance protocol — permissioned tokens, identity hooks, and transfer restrictions.
• Specify and ship lifecycle events: NAV updates, coupons, corporate actions, and redemptions.
• Write protocol specs, invariants, and test vectors that architecture, audits, and product can share.
• Build Foundry/Hardhat suites: unit, fuzz, invariant, and fork tests against realistic issuance flows.
• Own upgrade paths, pause/admin controls, and multisig operational procedures.
• Integrate protocol surfaces with backend indexers, oracles, and operator APIs.
• Prepare releases for external security audits and drive remediation to close.
• Evaluate L2 and app-chain trade-offs when a new issuance needs different settlement assumptions.
