Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Control Room Operator to safely operate the cooker and rendering equipment, ensuring a high-quality finished product and compliance with the food safety plan. You will perform daily equipment inspections, monitor material flows, and communicate issues to management. The role requires ability to work in a team and follow safety procedures.

The position offers a 2-2-3 schedule, benefits after 60 days, and a base salary of $19.10 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cooker and rendering equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect equipment daily to ensure safe operation and compliance with food safety plan.
• Communicate safety, food safety, and production issues to management.
• Monitor raw material bins, flow ways and finished storage bins for safety and efficiency.
• Monitor mechanical systems and report issues, reacting as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties in assigned areas.
• May assist maintenance and perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Responsible for daily inspection of equipment to ensure safe operation, food safety and performance specifications.
• Employee is responsible for communicating any issues with safety, Food safety plan or and production limitations with the management team.
• Operator will monitor raw material bins, flow ways and all finished storage bins, to ensure proper food safety and production efficiency.

The employee is required to lift a minimum of 50lbs. The employee is often required to stand, sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Close vision acuity capability required for this position. Ability to cross-train personnel to replace position in the event of absence.
