County of Santa Clara is seeking a security professional to safeguard County facilities, supervise access, and assist visitors. Under supervision, you will patrol premises, monitor alarms, log events, and coordinate with deputies as needed.

The role requires readiness for online examination and POST academy or equivalent; candidates must meet education and experience standards, and may be deployed as a Disaster Service Worker when required.

Competenze

• Education and experience equivalent to high school completion.
• Two (2) years of full-time experience as a security guard and/or peace officer.
• Completion of sixty (60) semester units (ninety (90) quarter units) may substitute for experience.
• Attended a Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office POST Basic Academy or Adult Corrections Academy within the last six months.
• Ability to travel to alternate locations; valid California driver's license and county driver authorization.
• DSW designation with required training and potential emergency deployment.
• Criminal history and background check including polygraph and fingerprinting requirements.
• Successful completion of POST certifications in use of impact weapon, OC spray, and handcuffs.
• In-house Field Training Program.

• Patrols assigned areas and deters security breaches or suspicious activity.
• Logs security events and prepares concise reports.
• Controls access to secured areas and issues badges.
• Maintains security of County buildings and monitors alarm and surveillance systems.
• Responds to routine and emergency security calls and takes appropriate action.
• May provide first aid or emergency medical services within training scope.
• Conducts property searches and supports transport of patients when needed.
• Assists deputies and other officers as directed.
