Job description

About the Team

The Global Safety and Security team advances DoorDash by protecting people, property, operations, brand, and reputation. Within that team, Protective Services safeguards executives and residences through executive protection, intelligence collection, threat monitoring, residential security, and secure transportation. We manage risk and deliver value through technology and a people-first approach, and we strive to always be ahead of the curve and there for our people, anytime, anywhere.

About the Role

We are hiring a Protective Services Operator to join our protective services team. This is an entry-level role providing shift-based coverage for executive residential security operations while performing intelligence intake and reporting. Protective Services Operators provide the shift-based monitoring and intake that feeds the Investigative Analyst and Senior Protective Intelligence Investigator, turning raw signals from support avenues, social media, camera feeds, access control, and visitor logs into the first clean record of a potential threat. You will monitor access control, camera and alarm systems, and visitor logs in real time, flagging anomalies and routing credible signals to the broader team before they become incidents. You will triage and assess incoming threat signals and elevate for rapid response and mitigations.

You are excited about this opportunity because you’ll…
  • Gain insight into protective security operations. Experience how shift operations, intelligence intake, and executive protection work together to protect people, assets, and business operations.
  • Learn the fundamentals of modern intelligence operations. Build a strong foundation in monitoring, intelligence collection, documentation, and escalation procedures while developing disciplined analytical skills applicable across the security industry.
  • Join a culture of building. We're creating new doctrine, modernizing our operational playbooks, and integrating AI into the way we work every day. We're looking for people who want to innovate, collaborate, and help create a culture that sets the standard for the industry.
  • Have a clear, named path to promotion. This role carries an explicit promotion pathway into a Protective Service Associate role for analysts who build strong shift-operations fundamentals.
We are excited about you because you bring…
  • A foundation in security or public safety. Early experience (0–2 years) in security operations, campus safety, law enforcement, military service, emergency communications, or a related field is valued. Recent graduates with relevant coursework or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
  • A desire to build a career. Genuine interest in developing a long-term career in protective intelligence, executive protection, corporate security, or intelligence operations.
  • Attention to detail. You take pride in producing accurate documentation and understand that thorough reporting is essential to effective threat assessment and operational decision-making.
  • Clear communication under pressure. Able to communicate calmly and concisely while producing accurate shift reports, intelligence summaries, and incident documentation in fast-paced environments.
  • A learning mindset. Comfortable learning new technologies, security systems, and analytical methodologies. Experience with camera systems, access control platforms, alarm monitoring, or dispatch tools is a plus— but we'll provide the training to help you succeed.
  • Physical fitness. Physical fitness required due to the operating environment. Walking and running hills required.
  • Document proficiency. Willingness to create professional documents and reports that will be presented to the team and organization.
  • Integrity and discretion. Trusted to handle sensitive information involving executives, investigations, and security operations with professionalism, sound judgment, and confidentiality.
  • Operational awareness. Exposure to shift-based environments such as a security operations center, dispatch center, campus security, emergency communications, or guard-force operations is helpful but not required.
  • Curiosity and analytical thinking. An interest in monitoring emerging risks, conducting basic open-source and social media research, and connecting information to support informed security decisions.
  • Education and flexibility. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, with the flexibility to work rotating shifts, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
