Job summary

Old Colony Elder Services (OCES) seeks a Protective Services Worker to investigate and substantiate allegations of abuse and neglect in elder adults. The role is within the Protective Services department, focusing on independent functioning and risk reduction.

Responsibilities include conducting investigations, developing protective plans, and coordinating with District Attorney when needed. A hybrid schedule may be available, with some after-hours coverage. Salary begins at $31.77 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Your passion for helping others and desire to make a difference.
  • Adaptability to be able to change as the needs of consumers and/or programs change.
  • At least two years of experience in the human services field preferably with the elder adult population and/or crisis intervention.
  • Bilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote independent functioning of members and provide services in the least restrictive environment.
  • Conduct investigations and evaluate the elder's capacity, situation and resources.
  • Develop and implement protective services plans to alleviate risk and abuse.
  • Determine whether a petition to the court for a Protective Order exists and refer serious cases to the District Attorney.
  • Provide emergency Protective Services department coverage during non-business hours.
