Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Investigate abuse, neglect, abandonment and/or special conditions for children.
• Interview children, parents, relatives, and neighbors to collect information.
• Assess danger threats and caregiver capacities to determine child safety.
• Arrange emergency placement when needed to keep children safe.
• Notify state attorney, law enforcement and child protection teams.
• Provide families with service linkages to resources.
• Conduct initial and ongoing danger assessments.
• Report indicators of abuse to the Florida Abuse Hotline.
