Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social welfare or related field or 12 college credits in related social sciences with one year of case management experience.
Knowledge of current social case management principles, techniques, and methods.
Ability to work with people to help them grow and adjust to problems.
Ability to conduct individual and family interviews and to identify problems.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities

Investigate reports of suspected neglect, child abuse, and student abuse.
Assess safety and risk of each client in a timely, thorough manner.
Conduct in-depth interviews with parties involved and other persons as necessary.
Determine validity of concerns and level of severity of verified abuse or neglect.
Assist in completion of service referrals and maintain case records and reports.
