Job summary

S&P Global, Inc. is seeking a high‑caliber security professional to lead executive protection for company leadership, including international travel and high‑profile events.

The role supports a fast‑paced Global Security & Crisis Management team and requires top‑tier risk assessment, discretion, and communication with senior leadership. The position is based at 55 Water Street in New York and requires daily on‑site presence with occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or government sectors.
  • Proven executive protection experience across domestic and international travel operations.
  • Strong understanding of security and risk landscapes with ability to assess threats and implement protective measures.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior executives and leadership teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including overnights.
  • Physical presence at 55 Water Street office, five days a week.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive protection to company leadership.
  • Augment security coverage at leadership meetings, conferences, and events; assist in incident management.
  • Provide executive protection during domestic and international travel.
  • Support security operations by providing coverage at leadership meetings and incidents.
  • Lead trip planning including security plans, risk assessments, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Maintain security documentation and protocols for protection activities.
  • Assist Building Operations and Investigation functions as needed.

About the Role

Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Team: Working with key partners both within and beyond the Corporation, Global Security & Crisis Management (GS&CM) strides to protect the Corporation's people, assets, brand, and reputation while building an environment that enables successful business interactions through planning, consultation and operational integrity.

Responsibilities and Impact

This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding corporate security role during a time of great change and challenge.

  • Operating with the highest levels of personal integrity and professionalism, perform executive protection to company leadership.
  • Provide support to the broader Global Security & Crisis Management Team by augmenting security coverage at S&P leadership meetings, business conferences and events, as well as incident management, when needed.
  • Provide executive protection services to company leadership during domestic and international travel, ensuring the highest levels of safety and professionalism.
  • Support Global Security & Crisis Management operations by providing security coverage at leadership meetings, business conferences, and incident management when needed.
  • Conduct daily executive calendar reviews and coordinate with staff and leadership to ensure seamless security integration.
  • Lead comprehensive trip planning and logistics including security plan creation, risk assessments, and coordination with key stakeholders for executive travel, events and off-site events.
  • Maintain security documentation and protocols including Risk Registers, Internal Threat Databases, and Standard Operating Procedures for all protection activities.
  • Assist the Building Operations and Investigation functions as needed to support broader security objectives.
Compensation/Benefits Information

(This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,773 to $130,652. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or government sectors
  • Proven executive protection experience across diverse settings including domestic and international travel operations
  • Strong understanding of security and risk landscapes with ability to assess threats and implement appropriate protective measures
  • Comfortable to engage with senior executives and leadership teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with comfort level engaging senior leadership and board members at the highest organizational levels
  • Travel domestically and internationally from overnight to multiple days
  • Sound operational judgment, discretion, reliability, and adaptability in dynamic security environments
  • Physical presence required at 55 Water Street office, 5 days a week
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional security certifications such as ASIS membership with PSP, CPP, or specialized executive protection training credentials
  • Aviation security experience including familiarity with private aviation, fixed base operations (FBOs), and airport security protocols
  • International operations experience with demonstrable experience working abroad and ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures
  • Specialized tactical training including defensive driving tactics and emergency response certifications (CPR/First Aid/AED from American Red Cross, AHA, etc.)
  • Attention to detail and ability to think clearly during fluid events while maintaining the highest level of client confidentiality and integrity
  • Keen sense of personal ownership and accountability with proven track record of reliability in high-stakes environments
