Job summary

United States Capitol Police (USCP) seeks a Special Agent (Lateral) in Washington, DC. This role requires U.S.

citizenship, TS/SCI clearance, and FLETC CITP or equivalent training, with extensive protective and investigative duties within PSB. Primary responsibilities include protective coverage for congressional leadership, investigations under DC Code and Title 18, and collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• FLETC CITP or equivalent training (FBI, DEA or US Postal) required.
• Must have 9 months of law enforcement experience post-training and 52 weeks at appointment; current outside USCP employment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide protective and investigative functions within PSB, DPD or ID.
• Investigate crimes, threats, and activities in accordance with DC Code and Title 18.
• Coordinate protective security for congressional leadership and events.
• Engage in protective intelligence, surveillance and liaison with other agencies.
