Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Protective Intelligence & Threat Analyst to identify and assess physical security threats to its personnel, executives, operations, and assets. You will use OSINT and investigative tools to evaluate risks, develop actionable intelligence, and support Protective Security and cross-functional partners.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in protective intelligence or related fields, strong judgment, and experience in executive protection.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in protective intelligence, threat investigations, intelligence analysis, behavioral threat assessment, executive protection intelligence.
• Strong judgment and the ability to assess incomplete or ambiguous information, distinguish signal from noise, and communicate risk with context.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing concise intelligence products for diverse audiences.
• Experience assessing risks involving executives, high-profile individuals, events, travel, or time-sensitive security decisions.
• Technical proficiency with APIs, automation, Python, data platforms, AI-enabled tools to improve intelligence collection and analysis.
• Ability to operate independently while collaborating within a small, distributed team and across partners.
• Familiarity with protective intelligence platforms like Ontic and with ATAP methodologies.
• Comfort supporting time-sensitive security matters, including nights or weekends during incidents or crises.

Responsibilities

• Identify and investigate physical threats to OpenAI, its executives, employees, facilities, operations, and assets using OSINT and investigative tools.
• Conduct POI and behavioral threat investigations to evaluate credibility, intent, capability, and severity, providing risk mitigations.
• Create risk assessments and concise intelligence products for leadership and protective teams.
• Assess threats related to executive travel, events, and public appearances requiring heightened protective awareness.
• Provide timely intelligence support to Executive Protection and Corporate Security partners.
• Research geopolitical and social developments that may create security risks for personnel or facilities.
• Prepare and disseminate clear, decision-oriented intelligence assessments and threat briefings for senior leaders.
• Manage OSINT data collections to improve discovery, retrieval, and dissemination.
• Leverage analytics, automation, and AI to enhance threat detection and investigations.
• Improve protective intelligence methodologies, protocols, and dissemination processes.
• Develop strong intelligence-sharing relationships across Corporate Security and partners.
