Job summary

Firehawk Aerospace in Addison, TX seeks a Test Engineer to advance propulsion technology. The role is full-time with travel to test sites, and entails developing and testing solid and hybrid rocket motors and engines.

You will design and operate test stands, plan and execute tests, analyze data, and generate technical reports while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure program success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of testing experience in aerospace/defense.
• Familiarity with solid rocket motor or hybrid/liquid rocket test setups, instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Experience in test planning, readiness reviews and execution.
• Ability to analyze test data and generate technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Developing and testing advanced propulsion technologies with a team.
• Designing and operating rocket engine test stands for solid and hybrid engines.
• Plan, execute, and analyze rocket motor test campaigns.
• Troubleshoot and maintain test stand equipment and hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align test efforts with program goals.
• Engage in daily test operations and field activities with travel to test sites.
