Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Propulsion Systems Analyst I to own and optimize engine startup/shutdown campaigns for Archimedes engines. The role includes developing transient simulations, maintaining valve sequences, and supporting test campaigns with data analysis.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or aerospace degree with 5+ years of cryogenic propulsion experience and proficiency in lumped parameter tools and ROCETS. Equity and robust benefits accompany a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• 5+ years experience with fluids system analysis of a cryogenic liquid propulsion rocket engine.
• Knowledge of lumped parameter fluid analysis tools and engine performance modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop transient startup and shutdown simulations for Archimedes engines.
• Develop and maintain startup/shutdown valve sequences and test campaigns.
• Support test site and vehicle transients campaigns with data review and model grounding.
• Serve as technical expert engine POC for all engine transients.
• Collaborate with engine leads to meet subcomponent and vehicle system needs.
• Create and maintain data processing tools.
