Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, Briggs, Texas, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the transition of propulsion products from development to production. You will own fabrication, assembly, and checkout procedures for engines and propulsion subassemblies, and drive process improvements to raise throughput and cut costs.

Requirements include 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing, ability to read technical drawings, strong troubleshooting, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years in a Manufacturing Engineer role.
• Experience with complex aerospace/aviation/automotive assemblies.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
• Proven troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong teamwork.
• Thrives under high-stakes, short-deadline environments.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition of products from development to production.
• End to end ownership of fabrication, assembly, and checkout for propulsion subassemblies and engines.
• Drive continuous process development to increase production rate and reduce cost.
• Lead investigations of process failures and root cause analysis.
• Own development, test, and qualification of new production processes.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to design teams.
• Own assembly/integration instructions and work with technicians on improvements.
• Develop and execute functional checkout procedures where applicable.
• Disposit non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct manufacturability reviews and implement design improvements.
