Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Auburn Hills, MI seeks a hands-on HIL engineer to advance hardware-in-loop systems for automotive testing. You will design and implement HIL test fixtures, harnesses, and load boxes, collaborating with hardware, software, and suppliers to ensure robust bench setups.

The role requires experience with dSPACE, ETAS, NI, Vector, Matlab/Simulink, CAN/CANFD, SPI, LIN and bootloaders, plus strong diagnostics skills and cross‑team communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Responsabilités

• Lead HIL-related issue resolution and diagnostics.
• Prepare harness definitions and wiring harness kits.
• Coordinate with hardware engineers and external suppliers.
• Design, implement, and test HIL fixtures and load boxes.
• Attend meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Description du poste

• Hardware In Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, NI, Vector, etc.)
• Experience in HIL simulator design, electrical/wiring harness design, load box design, implementation, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, CAN/CANFD, SPI, LIN and Flash bootloaders
• Perform Impact and requirements analysis including BOM
• Primary interface between HIL development team and external teams
• Prepare the harness definition design.
• Attend meetings to gather the required information and communicate progress updates.
• Work with the hardware engineer to prepare kits that include all the components needed, to be sent to the HIL supplier to build the harness.
• Leading and resolving all identified HIL related issues.
• Hands on ability to modify wiring on existing harness and troubleshoot hardware issues.
• Lead meeting to collect enablers to design a system HIL, to deliver on time.
• Commission design through open and closed loop setup.
• Ability to communicate effectively internally within the group, and externally (including suppliers).
