Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in Seattle is seeking a Fluids Engineer to own a critical fluid system from concept through flight.

Depending on priorities, you may work on propulsion fluid design, vehicle propulsion feed systems, tank pressure controls, or vehicle pneumatic systems, collaborating across propulsion, structures, thermal, avionics, and manufacturing. You will move quickly, iterate often, and take full ownership of fluid hardware that directly impacts mission success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical or related field.
  • 3+ years designing fluid system hardware for flight vehicles or high‑performance hardware.
  • Experience from concept through build, integration and test.
  • Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Own your fluid subsystem from concept through design, analysis, test, and flight.
  • Drive fluid designs for minimum mass while meeting pressure, leak and life requirements.
  • Design valves, routing architectures, and storage for propellant, pneumatic, and thermal fluids.
  • Balance performance, manufacturability, cost and schedule in every decision.
  • Perform hand calculations, FEA, tolerance stack‑ups; validate with test/flight data.
  • Define qualification and acceptance test campaigns and write procedures.
