Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Propulsion Engineer at either Level 2 or Level 3 to join the Propulsion Systems and Controls team in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The role focuses on designing, analyzing, and integrating ramjet, scramjet, and other air-breathing propulsion systems for advanced programs.

The position requires a STEM degree with related experience, the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, and strong communication and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s in STEM plus 2 years of related experience or Master’s Degree in STEM strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point).
• Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software.
• Knowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Performs design of one or more moderately complex or portions of structural components and functional systems.
• With limited supervision, applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of more complex components, structures, and sub-assemblies.
• Responds in a timely manner to all requests and explores all avenues within authority and makes appropriate referrals to other sources.
• Makes thoughtful and valuable suggestions and recommendations for improving own work and/or group’s work.
• Establish requirements for materials, structural components, and functional systems.
• Release results as design data after review from other engineers.
• Document results of design activities.
