Job summary

Intuitive Machines in Houston, TX is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to support testing and acceptance of propulsion system components, with responsibility for test procedure development, data review, and certification documentation for flight and ground hardware.

The role encompasses participation in broader propulsion engineering efforts across the program lifecycle, including integration, anomaly resolution, and test or mission operations support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience (or 1+ year with a Master's).
  • Experience testing aerospace propulsion, pressure systems, or related hardware.
  • Experience writing and reviewing test procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to analyze test data and clearly document results.
  • Knowledge of propulsion components such as valves, regulators, sensors.

Responsibilities

  • Support acceptance and qualification testing of propulsion system components, including proof pressure, leak, functional, and performance tests.
  • Develop, review, and execute component acceptance test procedures per aerospace standards.
  • Review test data for compliance and disposition nonconformances.
  • Generate and maintain test reports, data packages, and acceptance documentation for certification.
  • Support test readiness reviews, configuration control, and post-test data reviews.
  • Coordinate with technicians during test setup, execution, and teardown to ensure safe operations.
  • Contribute to propulsion engineering tasks across programs including design, build, test, and verification.
