Job summary

CycloKinetics in Salt Lake City seeks a mid-level Chemical Engineer to design and optimize catalytic processes for sustainable fuels. You will work across laboratory, pilot plant, and manufacturing environments, leading junior engineers and advancing R&D from concept to implementation.

The role emphasizes safety, process optimization, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver high-performance propellants and energy solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with 3–7 years of industrial experience.
Master’s degree with 2–5 years of industrial experience.
Doctoral degree with 0–3 years post-doctoral training, preferably industrial.
Background in biorefinery, petroleum, or chemical industries is ideal.
Knowledge of mass and energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction engineering.

Responsibilities

Support daily operational processes with PPE as required.
Safely handle, measure, mix, and transport chemical substances per procedures.
Operate and maintain equipment in chemical processing and testing.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on safety and performance.
Contribute to design, optimization, and control systems for the chemical facility.
Conduct pilot-scale experiments to test materials and process changes.
Develop and document standard operating procedures and progress reports.
