Job Title: Proposal Writer

Location: Sacramento, CA (In-Office Required)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually (DOE)
Type: Full-Time

The Proposal Writer will support the development of project proposals, scopes of work, qualifications packages, and client-facing documents that help secure new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is an organized communicator who enjoys collaborating with multiple departments and working in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, edit, and format scopes of work, project proposals, qualifications packages, and other business development materials
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and leadership teams to gather information and ensure content accuracy
  • Assist in responding to RFPs, RFQs, and other client requests
  • Maintain and update proposal templates, project profiles, resumes, and company qualifications
  • Conduct research on clients, projects, and industry trends to support proposal development
  • Review documents for grammar, consistency, formatting, and compliance with submission requirements
  • Organize proposal content and maintain document libraries and marketing resources
  • Support the preparation of presentations and other client-facing materials as needed
  • Ensure all written materials reflect company branding, professionalism, and quality standards
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field required
  • 1+ years of professional writing, editing, proposal coordination, marketing, communications, internship, or related experience preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and organizational abilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with proposal writing, construction, engineering, architecture, or professional services is a plus, but not required
  • Self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn and develop proposal management skills
