Job description

Space is a warfighting domain. True Anomaly seeks those with the talent and ambition to build the technology that secures it.

OUR MISSION

True Anomaly delivers decisive capabilities for space superiority. We build autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors — enabling the U.S. and its Allies to secure the space environment and counter threats from the ultimate high ground.

OUR VALUES
  • Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.
  • What would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results.
  • It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.
YOUR MISSION

As part of the Proposal team, you will join a team that sits at the heart of True Anomaly’s growth and revenue generation and be a critical driver of True Anomaly’s growth. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including legal, contracts, finance, engineering, program management, capture, and the executive teams to lead opportunities from the early stages of capture to acquisition, specifically leading teams to create compelling, winning proposals. You will provide essential people, project, and proposal management skills, expertly navigating the dynamic environment of a hyper‑growth company and managing competing priorities with overlapping schedules. You will craft compelling materials to inform our customers’ market research and acquisition strategies, write technical narratives on cutting‑edge capabilities, build and implement pricing strategies, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to close deals. On any given day, you will manage several concurrent RFx processes for new customer contracts, triage new incoming business opportunities, or help to build sales enablement materials for demos to potential customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proposal and Capture Strategist on our team need to be domain experts who know how to lead a team to craft a compelling proposal.
  • Flexibility and critical judgment are must‑have skills—as a lean and rapidly growing company, you need to understand how to apply “the right amount” of process to the task at hand, and how to be adaptive and move quickly so that the wider team can off‑load work that we should move through quickly.
  • Schedules don’t align 1:1 with the time the Government has provided so creative thinking is a must.
  • To succeed, you must be task focused and delivery minded with a focus on producing work quickly and moving onto the next to‑do.
  • You will be responsible for scanning and analyzing opportunities, managing communications at the Leadership level to surface critical insights about the acquisition (e.g., red flags, enablers, etc.), and leading kick‑off meetings to color reviews (as tailored to the opportunity at hand).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7 – 15 years’ experience with the Government solicitation process.
  • Experience leading complex, multi‑hundred‑million‑dollar proposals to award.
  • Deep experience managing and winning competitive POR‑level U.S. Department of War solicitations.
  • Experience and aptitude in building process where none exists.
  • Ability to clearly articulate information and to listen and understand business needs and build relationships across the organization.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to generate large documents on short timelines.
  • Comfort working with a diverse range of disciplines including, but not limited to, design, engineering, subcontractors, program management, supply chain, and finance.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts accurately and persuasively to a wide range of personas.
  • Demonstrated proposal management skills, including the ability to lead diverse groups of stakeholders toward a common goal.
  • In‑depth knowledge of RFxs, CSOs, proposals, and procurement.
  • Effective design and visual communication skills related to document layout, graphics, and other visuals.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Outstanding project management skills, including management of teams of technical and non‑technical individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Active TS or TS/SCI clearance preferred, SAP experience a bonus.
  • Preference for Engineering and other STEM‑Bachelor’s degrees.
  • Start‑up experience and/or previous experience with a major U.S. Defense Contractor (space sector ideal)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong preference for candidates based in the Washington, DC area (DMV metro) who can work flexibly and come to our local office (Arlington, VA) regularly.
COMPENSATION

$140,000 - $190,000

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C.
