Job summary

The Breeden Company, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician in Norfolk, VA to perform on-site maintenance for our residential community. This full-time, manual labor role covers apartment turns, preventative maintenance, building and grounds upkeep, and resident service requests.

Responsibilities include adhering to safety policies, maintaining high-standards of the property, and supporting a team-driven environment with prompt, courteous service and 48-hour work order completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience as an Apartment Maintenance Technician or similar role preferred.
• HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification is advantageous but not required (training offered).
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance across the property, including apartment turns, preventative maintenance, and grounds upkeep.
• Ensure safety, appearance, and operation meet company standards.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests and complete work orders within 48 hours.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to company policies and Fair Housing laws.
• Participate in asset management for apartments, exteriors, and grounds.
