Job summary

American Avenue Property Management seeks a Residential Handyperson (Property Engineer) to inspect, repair, and maintain homes. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work, evaluate vacated properties, conduct inspections, and manage pre-renovation tasks.

Expect proactive communication and strong resident service. You must own tools, have a truck or van, and reside within reasonable proximity.

Qualifications

• Proficient in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work and property turns.
• Strong communication skills for resident and team interactions.
• Own basic tools and reliable vehicle; valid driver’s license; proximity to site.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across trades (carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical).
• Evaluate vacated homes to prepare repair and cleaning punch lists.
• Inspect properties, secure sites, and conduct vacancy/wellness checks.
• Handle minor pre-renovation repairs and basic troubleshooting.
• Cosmetic refurbishment including drywall patching, painting, flooring, cleaning.
• Document property conditions using handheld tech and update WO records.
