Job summary

The Franklin Group in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Property Compliance Specialist. You will maintain tenant files, determine eligibility for new admissions, and monitor HUD/LIHTC compliance across LIHTC and Section 8 programs.

The role requires strong organization, detail orientation, and excellent verbal and written communication. Travel may be necessary; the company offers competitive pay and benefits. You will join a team dedicated to compliant, high-quality affordable housing services.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years affordable housing compliance experience.
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks.
  • Ability to work well under stressful conditions.
  • Must be prompt and dependable.
  • Strong computer literacy skills are essential to this position.
  • Working knowledge of LIHTC and HUD programs required.
  • Affordable Housing Certifications a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper maintenance of tenant files and records to ensure accuracy according to HUD and LIHTC regulations (including renewals of contracts for Section 8 participants).
  • Determine eligibility for all new admissions in compliance with financing programs.
  • Monitor EIV master binders for compliance with federal regulations and requirements.
  • Review all inspections/audits and assist with corrections and correspondence.
  • Monitor re-certification notification letters in compliance with HUD and LIHTC regulations.
  • Attend supervision meetings and departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Participate in all required company training requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries, phone calls, correspondence, and email in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Provide and coordinate training for site staff.
  • Knowledge of PBS8 and HCV in addition to the HUD and LIHTC.
  • Remain familiar with current U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ever changing Federal Regulations as they relate to LIHTC and Section 8 Housing programs

JOB TITLE: Property Compliance Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:The Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance with HUD and Low Income Housing Tax Credits. Individuals in this position should possess strong organization skills and a detail-oriented approach.

PRIMARY DUTIES include the following but are not limited to:

  • Maintain proper maintenance of tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy according to HUD and LIHTC regulations. This includes renewing of contracts for Section 8 participants, including interims and re-certification/review of income and household composition.
  • Determination of eligibility for all new admissions in compliance with all financing programs.
  • Monitoring of EIV master binders for compliance with federal regulations and requirements.
  • Review all inspections/audits and assist with corrections and correspondence.
  • Monitoring of re-certification notification letters in compliance with HUD and LIHTC regulations.
  • Attendance at supervision meetings and departmental meetings as scheduled.

Salary Range is $20.00 - $41.21 per hour

The base salary range displayed represents the expected minimum and maximum compensation for this role at the time of posting. Final salary offers are determined based on multiple factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, specific skills, qualifications, and type of property.
