Job summary

Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a Property & Casualty Broker to join our growing team in Dallas or Houston, TX. You will interact with agents, brokers, and carriers to expand revenue and retain policies.

The role requires a valid P&C license and a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience). You will underwrite risks, issue quotes, and drive new business while maintaining profitability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • 0-5 years' experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with insurance agents, brokers, and carriers by attending events and participating in sales meetings.
  • Examine documents to determine risk and request information as needed.
  • Review, analyze, and underwrite risks; rate submissions for premium and terms; issue quotes and binders.
  • Process new business to grow revenues and maintain retention and profitability.
  • Leverage mentorship relationships to develop business with retail agency customers and foster cross-department collaboration.

Position Overview

Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a Property & Casualty Broker to join our growing team in Dallas or Houston, TX!

How You Will Contribute
  • Develop the skills to interact with company and retail agent personnel in a diplomatic and knowledgeable manner to establish positive relationships, increase revenues, and retain policies upon expiration.
  • Develop relationships with insurance agents, brokers, and carriers by attending sponsored events, along with participating in internal and external sales meetings.
  • Examine documents such as application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps, and medical reports to determine degree of risk from such factors as applicant financial standing, age, occupation, accident experience, and value and condition of property. Request additional information, if necessary, and accept or reject risks in conformance with company guidelines.
  • Review, analyze, and underwrite risks submitted by Producers; rate submissions for premium and terms; analyze exposures for quotes for new and renewal business; issue written indications, quotes and binders; use inspection companies to obtain further information, quote rates, or explain company underwriting policies.
  • Process new business in a timely and efficient manner to grow revenues and maintain retention and profitability.
  • Leverage mentorship relationships when marketing and meeting with retail agency customers to develop business and cultivate relationships to grow a book of business. Foster and improve relationships with other departments, producers, companies, and competitors.
  • Develop thorough understanding of internal operations to successfully extend Company facilities, utilizing binding authorities or brokering risks when required to successfully negotiate a placement.
  • Must successfully complete and pass assigned educational courses, professional designations, and licenses of courses and examinations.
Licenses and Certifications

Valid P&C license.

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A) from four-year college or university or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
