Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with property management or real estate accounting preferred.
• Experience with Yardi, AppFolio, Entrata, or CYMA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting activities and financial reporting for assigned properties.
• Ensure the general ledger, tax records, and financial information are accurate and current.
• Complete month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Maintain and organize the general ledger and month-end close documentation.
• Review and maintain mortgage, escrow, draw, and management agreements.
• Verify escrow taxes and insurance and process monthly mortgage payments and owner distributions.
• Review and approve accounts payable, deposits, and accounts receivable transactions.
• Maintain financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Support annual client audits.
• Communicate balance sheet explanations and financial information to clients.
• Provide accounting support to operations regarding AP processes and inquiries.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to manage the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of assigned properties.
