Job summary

Tiger Fuel Company in Illinois is seeking a Class A Transport Driver focused on propane with cross-training in petroleum. Available shifts include Sunday through Thursday, from 2am to 2pm, with overtime opportunities.

You’ll be home every day and play a key role in safety and service. Primary duties include driving a transport truck to haul liquid propane to Tiger locations, monitoring loading equipment for safety, and maintaining clear communication with dispatch and customers.

Qualifications

• CDL A license with haz-mat and tanker endorsements and medical card.
• Minimum of one year experience driving large trucks.
• Physically capable of loading/unloading transport trucks and hoses.
• Able to lift and maneuver hoses and nozzles up to 50 lbs.
• Able to operate in snow, ice and adverse weather conditions.
• Clear driving record with no major convictions.
• Good verbal and written communication with dispatch and customers.
• Read and understand road signs, routes and paperwork.
• Pass DOT physical and drug screen prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Drive a transport truck to haul liquid propane to Tiger locations.
• Monitor loading/unloading equipment to ensure safety for you and customers.
• Operate pumps, valves and hoses as required during loading/unloading.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch, logistics and customers.

We're looking for an outstanding individual to join our team and contribute to the company's legacy of excellent service and safety as a full-time *Propane* Transport Driver. Available shifts could include Sunday thru Thursday from 2am to 2pm. Drivers also have the ability to pick up an extra shift for overtime! You’ll be home every day - no over the road! We take pride in our transport drivers and believe they play an integral role in our success.

Your primary responsibility will be driving a transport truck to haul liquid propane to various Tiger locations. The transport driver will monitor all loading and unloading equipment, such as pumps, valves and hoses, to ensure safety for themselves and their customers.

Requirements

• Possess a CDL A license, with proper haz-mat and tanker endorsements and medical card
• Minimum of one (1) year experience driving large truck
• Physically capable of using equipment to load and unload transport trucks, including pulling hoses and climbing onto the top of the tanker
• Physically capable to participate in heavy lifting, bending, squatting, climbing, carrying hoses/nozzles weighing 50 lbs
• Experience driving in snow, ice, other weather conditions, and maneuvering in tight quarters
• Acceptable driving record with no major convictions
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in written correspondence with dispatchers, logistics, and customers.
• High school level math competence to verify quantities and volumes.
• Must be able to read and understand road signs, instructions, routes and other paperwork
• Demonstrate a great attitude dealing with customers, coworkers, and other drivers including patience during load/wait times/traffic
• Pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen

Working Conditions:

• Primarily outside work, driving large fuel vehicle
• Able to drive for long periods of time
• Physically challenging position with climbing on/off truck and fueling
• Exposure to dust, fumes and high noise levels. Required to drive occasionally in hazardous conditions, including weather, tight quarters, and blighted areas
• May be required to work alternative shift, long hours, or on weekends and work additional assigned loads in compliance with DOT regulations
