Job summary

Paraco Gas Corporation in Woonsocket, RI seeks a Service Technician to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair propane systems and related equipment for diverse customers. Oil-fired heating experience is a plus as the company serves heating-oil clients in RI.

The role requires 1+ year of field experience, a CDL-B with HazMat, and a strong safety/process orientation. Expect on-site work with some on-call shifts and cross-functional customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of service technician experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing equipment.
• CDL Class B with HazMat endorsement and valid DOT medical certification.
• Safe driving record and compliance with DOT requirements.
• Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of LP gas piping, propane systems, tank installations, and appliance service.
• CETP certification and propane-industry field experience preferred.
• Oil-burner/heating-oil boiler or multi-fuel HVAC experience preferred.
• Rhode Island oil-burner or HVAC license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, repair, and remove LP propane tanks, appliances, piping, regulators, and related equipment for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot propane systems and appliances and complete required repairs safely and efficiently.
• Perform leak checks, pressure tests, safety inspections, gas-system start-ups, lockouts, re-installs, and gas odor/leak calls.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and parts replacement on LP gas appliances and equipment.
• When qualified and assigned, inspect, clean, diagnose, service, and repair residential and light-commercial oil-fired boilers, furnaces, burners, fuel systems, and related controls.
• Respond to no-heat, insufficient-heat, and other emergency service calls.
• Complete required service records, vehicle inspections, safety procedures, and documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and properly stocked service vehicle and assigned equipment.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and completed work clearly to customers and internal teams.
• Follow all company policies and applicable federal, state, local, DOT, and industry safety requirements.
• Complete required CETP/PERC, operator qualification, and company training.
• Provide exceptional customer service and protect customer property while representing Paraco professionally.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
