Job summary

Ferrellgas is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee safety compliance and daily operations across plants, vehicles, and staff. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in operations management or related field and at least three years of experience, with a Class B CDL hazmat/tanker endorsement.

Based in Athens, AL, you will guide training, inspections, and risk monitoring, coordinate with logistics, and drive the center toward safety and service goals while adapting to a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or field experience equivalent.
• At least three years of work-related experience; propane experience preferred.
• Class B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements required.
• Working knowledge of DOT guidelines and regulations.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude; ability to manage compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs all operational/safety administrative, plant, and vehicle checklists and ensures previous deficiencies have been addressed.
• Tracks and assists with certified employee training (CETP) and supervises yard and plant facilities.
• Uses regular monitoring, risk assessment, and trend analysis to identify issues and develop resolutions.
• Performs reseller and hose inspections and submits information for reseller compliance.
• Monitors cargo tank compliance, completes VK's on-site, and ensures proper training and inspections for responsible employees.
• Monitors safety training matrix and hazmat training submission and currency.
• Ensures proper FerrellMeter usage and reporting knowledge.
• Ensures distance checks before every delivery and documents any failures.
• Reviews red tags to identify unsafe systems and coordinate repairs and tag removal.
• Monitors CSA reporting and DOT inspections, following up on violations.
• Monitors JS compliance, testing, and inspections.
• Reviews quarterly risk reports to address emerging trends.
• Coordinates with logistics supervisor and fleet maintenance to optimize vehicle maintenance.
• Ensures safety meetings and memos are communicated and followed up.
