Spicer Propane in Groton, CT is seeking a full-time Propane Fuel Delivery Driver to join our safety‑driven team. If you’re experienced in trucking and hold CDL Hazmat/Tanker endorsements, you’ll help deliver propane to residential and commercial customers while following all regulations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the trucking industry.
• Ability to understand and apply NFPA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• Ability to work an on-call schedule.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong planning, execution, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely delivering hazardous materials and documenting deliveries.
• Communicating with your manager about deliveries, questions, problems, accidents, etc.
• Completing daily truck inspections and submitting paperwork.
• Treating customers and their properties respectfully and professionally.
• Following checklists to meet daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
• Reporting installations that are not up to code.
• Following truck service recommendations and scheduling regular inspections and maintenance.
• Participating in regular safety meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely delivering hazardous materials and documenting deliveries
• Communicating with your manager about deliveries, questions, problems, accidents, etc.
• Completing daily truck inspections and submitting paperwork
• Treating customers and their properties respectfully and professionally
• Following checklists to meet daily, weekly, and monthly objectives

Propane Fuel Delivery Driver Performance Expectations:

• Consistently demonstrate a high level of safety awareness
• Maintain NFPA 58 and 54 standards for Driver Safety and Leak and Pressure Check requirements
• Ensure CDL, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsements are current
• Closely follow all DOT and DMV laws
• Keep the truck in good mechanical condition and promptly schedule services as needed
• Complete regular DOT physicals
• Meet deadlines and communicate regularly with the manager

Schedule flexibility is a must, and you may need to work up to 10 hours per day during peak season (winter). You can start between 4:30 am to 9:30 am and work for at least 8 hours. Some after-hours work may be needed for emergency propane service.
