Job summary

Heller's Gas, Inc. is seeking a delivery technician to transport propane, conduct safety checks, and perform installation and maintenance of propane systems.

The role requires a Class B CDL with tanker, air brake, and hazmat endorsements and involves field work outdoors. The successful candidate will transfer propane, verify delivery details, inspect equipment, monitor tank levels, stock trucks, and educate customers on safe operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Relevant experience preferred
• Familiarity with computers or mobile devices used in service
• Have a valid Class B CDL with tanker, air brake, and hazmat endorsements
• Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing

Responsibilities

• Transfer propane from bulk storage to truck and from truck to customer tanks
• Verification of tank information upon delivery including serial number
• Perform visual inspection of equipment and report issues
• Continuous monitoring of truck tank levels to ensure adequate supply
• Ensure truck is adequately stocked with all necessary tools and supplies
• Maintain clean and mechanically sound vehicles and supplies
• Be aware of special conditions surrounding select deliveries
• Educates customers on safe and proper operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
• Inspect company vehicle daily and report issues in a timely manner
• Understands all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes pertaining to installation and maintenance of tanks, propane equipment and supply systems
• Prepares work orders, invoices and other documentation related to work performed in accordance with company and industry standards
• Installation and removal of propane tanks and gas-powered appliances
• Installation and maintenance of gas piping systems including underground lines, above ground lines, interior piping, and other related equipment
• Diagnostic, maintenance and repair work related to propane tanks, supply systems and gas-powered appliances
• Performs inspections and leak tests of supply systems and equipment
• Provide exceptional customer service
