Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our team in the Power Division. The role leads survey project direction, QA/QC, and execution across projects, ensuring adherence to standards and timely completion.

Ideal candidates bring a professional survey license (multi-state preferred), 10+ years in consulting, and strong leadership and communication abilities to mentor the project team and coordinate with the Project Manager.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and implementation of survey projects and monitor operational effectiveness.
• Serve as SME for survey activities (construction staking, topographic surveying, platting, boundary analysis, legal descriptions).
• Define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements with the Project Manager.
• Evaluate project budget, scope, and fee with Project Manager.
• Enforce company standards, policies, and procedures; ensure quality control/assurance on survey activities.
• Conduct team meetings to coordinate projects; stay current on trends, technology, and equipment; provide mentoring.
• Lead by example with judgment, values, trust, honesty, and professionalism.

Description

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our team. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, quality assurance/quality control, and completion of survey projects in Westwood's Power Division.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and implementation of projects and monitors the operational effectiveness throughout.


• Serves as subject matter expert for survey related activities such as construction staking, topographic surveying, platting, legal description writing, boundary analysis, exhibit preparation, and legal principles.


• Works with the Project Manager to define project tasks, schedule and resource requirements.


• Works with Project Manager to evaluate project budget, scope, and fee.


• Complies with and helps the enforcement of company standards, policies, and procedures.


• Conduct team meetings with project team to evaluate and coordinate the project.


• Stays current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.


• Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff as needed.


• Responsible for quality control and quality assurance related to the survey activities on each project.


• Ensures division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.


• Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

Required Experience

• A professional survey license with multi-state licensure is preferred.


• Four-year degree preferred and/or 10-plus years of experience in a consulting business.


• Effective verbal and written communication is necessary and independent judgment is essential.

• Handle multiple priorities and projects well.
