Job summary

C.T. Male Associates, a multi-discipline surveying, engineering, and architectural firm in the Northeast, is looking for a motivated Project Surveyor to join our team in Latham, NY. Collaborate with a team of technical professionals across disciplines, exercising independent judgement while coordinating the work of supporting staff.

What You’ll Do: Lead projects to ensure quality products and manage contracts, scopes, and field staff. Requires A.A.S.

Qualifications

• A.A.S. Degree in Surveying Technology or related field.
• New York State Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.).
• Thorough knowledge of all types of land surveys.
• Able to use GPS, total stations, and robotic total station survey equipment.
• Knowledge of Boundary Law while performing boundary surveys.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead professional to ensure quality products.
• Negotiate contracts, prepare proposals, and manage financial and technical aspects of projects, including directing and instructing field staff.
• Develop sound Scopes of Work in accordance with clients’ requirements.
• Exercise leadership and motivation within the project team to ensure good performance by all members.
• Provide technical and professional consultation on Firm projects involving survey issues.
• Interpret maps, design and architectural plans, and specifications to complete assignments, including construction stakeouts and surveys.
• Effectively complete assignments including construction stakeout, boundary surveys and topographic & existing conditions surveys.
• Secure information from Public Corporations, Government Agencies, and other surveyors, including deed research.

Job Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• A.A.S. Degree in Surveying Technology or related field and/or a minimum of 7 years of experience with Survey Project Management or combination of education and experience.
• New York State Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.).
• A thorough knowledge of all types of land surveys.
• Complete knowledge of the purpose and procedures for field and office work regarding surveys.
• Ability to effectively use GPS, total stations, and robotic total station survey equipment.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply Boundary Law while performing boundary surveys.
• Valid driver’s license.
• May be required to undergo drug testing as required for specific projects or fingerprinting as required for security clearance purposes.
