Cherokee-Millwright,-Inc. in Cleveland, TN is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead complex construction projects from inception to completion. You will oversee safety, budgeting, scheduling, and staff coordination while ensuring quality and accuracy of records.

This role reports to the General Superintendent and requires five years of field construction experience and at least two years in project oversight, or an equivalent degree. On-site leadership and strong communication are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Direct report to General Superintendent
  • Works with General Superintendent to ensure jobs are staffed with leadership and qualified employees
  • Attends daily job site safety and task assignment meetings
  • Coordinates job site equipment PMs and repairs & maintenance with the Operations team
  • Ensures material and equipment needs are communicated; requests rentals and PO's
  • Responds to schedule changes and emergency situations, including weekend staffing
  • Performs annual employee reviews with the General Superintendent
  • Mentors/coaches assigned job site leadership

Job Summary

Job Title: Project Superintendent

Department: Operations

Reports To: General Superintendent

FLSA: NON-EXEMPT

Summary: Manages all aspects of complex projects from inception to conclusion while maintaining accuracy of record keeping, safety requirements, and being mindful of budget constraints, and workforce needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Constant direct communication with assigned Project Manager
  • Direct report to General Superintendent
  • Works with General Superintendent to ensure all assigned jobs are staffed with appropriate leadership and qualified employees
  • Attends at least one job site daily safety and job task assignment meetings that is conducted by job site leadership
  • Reviews daily job site equipment inspection sheets and TSA’s
  • Schedules and coordinates job site based equipment PM’s and R&M with the Operations team
  • Ensures Cherokee Operations team is made aware of any material / equipment needs
    • Requests internal and external equipment rentals
    • Requests PO’s for any materials needed
    • Coordinates all deliveries of materials and equipment to assigned job sites
  • Reacts to all unexpected schedule changes and “emergency” situations
    • Ensures all weekend staffing, material and equipment needs are communicated and executed.
  • Works with the General Superintendent to complete annual employee reviews
  • Works with the General Superintendent to identify developmental opportunities for all field employees
  • Mentors / coaches assigned job site leadership

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, though management of projects includes directing project related activities of the project team members.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years field construction and
  • At least two years of previous experience in job oversite and/or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
