Project Site Safety Specialist

Windsor, CO 6-month duration Temporary Per Diem $125/day/7 days a week

Pay Range: $42.00-$52.00 per hour

This range represents the expected hourly pay rate for this role at the time of posting. Actual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant ex, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. This position is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.

What You'll Own
  • Site Safety Leadership. Serving as a full-time project dedicated site safety professional, you will drive our safety culture while leading job site’s safety performance improvement efforts.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight. You'll ensure compliance with OSHA regulations including 29 CFR 1926 requirements. Act as both Competent Person and Qualified Person as defined by OSHA.
  • Training and Workforce Oversight. You'll ensure all required orientations and onboarding are completed. Review job briefs and provide constructive feedback to crew leaders.
  • Incident Management and Reporting. Immediate reporting of all incidents to the client project team. Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Auditing and Reporting. You'll conduct regular safety audits and participate in client safety assessments. Ensure inspections and testing programs are implemented and audited. Provide summaries for incidents, corrective actions, safety meetings, and training conducted.

What You Bring
Must-haves
  • One of the following education and experience combinations: bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant safety experience in gas utility or heavy construction; CUSP certification with 5 to 7 years of documented gas utility experience; or 20+ years of gas utility experience while actively pursuing CUSP certification.
  • Natural gas pipeline field safety experience.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification; current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification; Confined Space training; Work Area Protection training; HAZWOPER 40-Hour certification; and Process Hazard Analysis or Process Safety training.
  • Tap Root training or ability to obtain, along with working knowledge of gas utility work methods.
  • Strong understanding of gas transmission, distribution, or related infrastructure work, including working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards.
  • Experience supporting client-specific contractor safety programs and meeting or exceeding applicable client requirements.
  • Ability to be physically present on site throughout active project operations and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with crews, supervision, and client representatives.
  • Ability to prepare professional written reports, conduct field inspections, and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • CSP, ASP, CHST, or OHST certification
  • CUSP Green or Blue certification
