Job summary

University of California, Davis invites applications for a full-time Project Scientist in Dr. Wan's Lab within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This role contributes to a diet-associated metabolic disease research program and immunological studies.

The appointee will design experiments, supervise trainees as needed, and collaborate with the PI to advance the project goals. Independent PI status is not required, but excellence in research is expected.

Qualifications

PhD in Biotechnology, Experimental Pathology, Microbiology, or related field.
Postdoctoral training and peer-reviewed publications.
Gut microbiota research and animal model research focusing on the digestive tract.

Responsibilities

Research activity (60%) – develop an active research program; design specific projects; supervise students or staff as needed.
Publication (15%) – publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
Grant Acquisition (15%) – assist or apply for funding; prepare reports and modifications of budgets.
Professional competence and activity (10%) – attend seminars and present results; coordinate presentations as needed.
