Job summary

Safety Worxs, LLC is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator for a 5-6 month project in Austin, TX. The PSC will lead and manage all construction safety activities from project commencement through substantial completion.

Must have 7+ years of specific building construction safety experience and OSHA 500 or 502 certification. The role requires ensuring compliance with safety standards and fostering a proactive safety culture on-site.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building construction safety experience including: 5+ years in safety process management
• or 4-year safety degree plus 3+ years of field safety experience
• Experience must be building construction only (General Industry or specialty backgrounds will not qualify)
• Must possess OSHA 500 (Construction Industry Trainer) OR OSHA 502 (Trainer Update)

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee the project’s safety program through full construction lifecycle
• Implement and manage construction safety processes, including hazard identification, mitigation, and inspections
• Conduct incident investigations and provide documentation with preventive recommendations
• Provide continuing education and practical training in safety topics
• Review and approve safety method statements and procedures for high-hazard activities

Job description

Safety Worxs is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator (PSC) for a 5-6 month project in Austin, TX. The PSC is responsible for leading and managing all construction safety activities from project commencement through substantial completion.

Must have 7 years of specific building construction for a GC and an OSHA 500 or 502 to be considered. This role ensures full compliance with federal, state, and project-specific safety standards while fostering a proactive, positive safety culture. The PSC will remain active on the project until the ODR provides written concurrence for removal.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee the project’s safety program throughout the full construction lifecycle
• Implement and manage construction safety processes, including hazard identification, mitigation, and routine field inspections
• Conduct incident investigations and prepare documentation with preventive recommendations
• Provide documented continuing education and practical training in
• Fall Protection, Scaffolds, Excavation & Trenching, Confined Space, Crane/Equipment Operations, Electrical Safety, Incident Investigation,
• Review and approve safety method statements and procedures related to high-hazard activities

Qualifications:

• 7+ years building construction safety, including: 5+ years in construction safety process management; or 4-year safety degree and 3+ years of actual field safety experience.
• ** Experience must be building construction only (General Industry or specialty-only backgrounds will not qualify)
• Must possess OSHA 500 (Construction Industry Trainer) OR OSHA 502 (Trainer Update).OSHA 10 or 30 and OSHA 510 do not satisfy the training requirement.

Preferred:

• CSP, CHST, or other BCSP certifications (may count toward experience)
• Proven ability to build and maintain a proactive safety culture
