Qualifications

• Proficiency in tracking student outcomes, preparing reports, and using case management software
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills; thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Must be willing to travel for occasional off-site training and to work occasional holidays / adjusted hours, including emergency callback

Responsibilities

• Assist students applying for rental assistance programs, down-payment assistance, and eviction protection services
• Conduct intake assessments to determine student needs and develop action plans for securing housing
• Assist students in understanding lease agreements, tenant rights, and responsibilities
• Coordinate emergency housing placements for students in crisis situations
• Connect students to advocacy resources such as the Counseling Center, Campus Advocate, CARE Team, and Essential Needs
• Provide ongoing case management and follow-up support to ensure students maintain stable housing
• Determine eligibility for Project Rebound students to receive rental/mortgage assistance funding
• Develop, coordinate, and host outreach events and educational workshops on housing stability and financial literacy
• Assess outreach and workshop effectiveness using student feedback and data collection
• Coordinate with campus departments to provide targeted outreach to marginalized/vulnerable student populations
• Establish and maintain weekly partnerships with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) for continuum of care
• Participate in monthly CSU systemwide workgroup meetings and attend community/housing-related conferences
• Track student housing outcomes and program metrics to assess service impact
• Maintain detailed case notes and assist with grant/departmental reporting requirements

Position Purpose

Under general supervision of the Director of Project Rebound, the Project Rebound Housing Coordinator provides up to moderately complex direct assistance and support to Project Rebound students experiencing housing insecurity, including those who are unhoused or displaced due to financial hardship, unsafe living environments, or unforeseen changes in housing. The position connects students with campus and community resources, assists with housing navigation and rental assistance, and provides case management support. It serves a critical role in Project Rebound, a 3-year grant through the Chancellor's Office to increase housing stability for Project Rebound students.

Compensation, Physical Demands, and Additional Notices

• Anticipated hiring range: starting salary not expected to exceed $5,083/month; CSU classification salary range $5,083-$7,228/month
• Benefits include medical/dental/vision plans, CalPERS retirement, CSU tuition waiver, up to 24 vacation days/year, unlimited sick leave accrual, and 15 paid holidays/year
• Physical demands: light work, mainly sitting with up to 25% standing/walking; lifting limited to 25 pounds
• Satisfactory background check (including criminal records check) required
• This is a sensitive position under CSU designation
