Job summary

Echo Electric, a leading electrical distributor, seeks a Project Quotations Specialist to coordinate bid processes, ensure accurate pricing, and liaise with customers to meet profitability targets. The role requires evaluating bid documents, monitoring orders, and developing pricing strategies in collaboration with sales and management.

The position is Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, on-site at our Iowa operations, with opportunities to grow through training and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with quoting substations and distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of high voltage electrical industry preferred.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and layouts.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate bid documents and drawings to generate competitive bids.
• Monitor ordering activities to ensure pricing accuracy.
• Communicate proactively with customers throughout the quotation process.
• Formulate pricing strategies with sales and management.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and substitutions.
• Negotiate pricing contracts and document work.
• Collaborate with Sales, Inside Sales, and support teams.

The Project Quotations Specialist plays a pivotal role in coordinating the bidding quotation process for customer requests and projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while aligning with sales and profitability objectives.

Shift: Monday- Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

We're looking for a team player who:

• Evaluate bid documents, one line diagrams, drawings to generate and submit competitive bids.
• Monitors ordering activities associated with bid projects to ensure pricing and terms accuracy.
• Communicates proactively with customers throughout the quotation/bid process.
• Formulates unique pricing strategies in collaboration with sales and management representatives.
• Stays informed about inventory, including appropriate product substitutions.
• Develops and enhances product knowledge, attending relevant training classes.
• Negotiates special pricing contracts and maintain accurate documentation.
• Fosters effective working relationships with Sales Associates, Inside Sales Associates, and support personnel.
• Exchanges customers' needs information timely.

What you bring:

• 1+ years of experience with quoting substations and distribution equipment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of high voltage electrical industry preference.
• Bachelor degree in business or related field preferred, or equivalent on the job experience as determined by Echo Electric.
• Knowledge of estimating software.
• Demonstrated customer and vendor relationship building and maintenance skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to accurately read CAD drawings and spec layouts.
• Strong attention to details and demonstrated follow-up skills.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills, including the ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.
