Job summary

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Project Process Engineer – Desalination, based in Midland or Houston, TX. Hybrid role with up to 50% travel and relocation assistance available. Requires a BS in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years in process engineering, with desalination and project management expertise.

Lean Six Sigma knowledge is strongly preferred. Role covers development from concept to operation, CAD drawing, PFDs, and cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Operations, and Sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of active process/project experience in Oil & Gas, Wastewater, or Industrial Water Treatment.
• Experience in desalination and project management.
• Lean Six Sigma (LSS) experience desired (Yellow/Green/Black Belt).

Responsibilities

• Develop new and existing processes from concept to finished operating process within Operations.
• Create PFD drawings and perform material and energy balances for new or existing operations.
• Use CAD programs to build or modify line drawings.
• Perform complex chemical engineering calculations.
• Lead projects: define scope, build cost model (OPEX/CAPEX), acquire equipment, write procedures/test plans, supervise construction/commissioning, startup, and handover.
• Provide training on process improvements and collaborate across R&D, Operations, and Sales.

Job description

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Project Process Engineer – Desalination for a chemical-based oil & gas client. Role can be based in either Midland, Texas or Houston, Texas. Role is a hybrid of office and field operations work with up to 50% travel. Relocation assistance is available for this role.

• Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years’ experience in process engineering, wastewater management and oil & gas chemicals
• Expertise in desalination and project management required
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles required
• 7+ years experience in onshore oil & gas including field operations and engineering
• Base salary of $140k - $175k DOE plus bonus opportunity and excellent benefits

Responsibilities:

• Develop new and existing processes from concept to the finished operating process within Operations
• Capable of developing PFD drawing and producing material and energy balances for all new or existing Operations
• Capable of using CAD programs to build or modify line drawings
• Capable of performing complex chemical engineering calculations
• Works with R&D, Operations, Sales and all related teams to fully understand scope and to provide both guidance and expertise as needed for new and existing products
• As project lead, will be responsible for defining scope or work, building cost model (OPEX and CAPEX), acquiring equipment, writing procedures/ test plans, assembling and directing construction/commissioning team, conducting start up, and turning over the operational project to regional management team
• Good communication skills are a must including capability of writing EOD and solid presentation skills
• Provide training that will aid in developing others on process improvements
• Become a team player working along all levels of the Organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years of active process/project experience in Oil and Gas, Wastewater, or Industrial Water Treatment
• Experience working in field operations at various locations
• Significant experience in desalination projects and processes
• Lean experience strongly desired – Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Yellow, Green, Black Belt
