Job summary

UC Davis Health is seeking a Project Policy Analyst Supervisor 2 to lead the Implementation Team within the Patient Contact Center. Under the Engagement Manager, you will supervise PPA4s and PPA2s, ensuring Ambulatory Access projects meet accountability and stewardship of resources.

The role requires strong leadership, Epic workflow expertise, and strategic program development to support organizational priorities. Hybrid on-site/remote work is available in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Progressive leadership experience in health system administration, health care planning, public administration, or equivalent.
  • Experience in leading analytical professional teams to successful results.
  • Experience implementing Referral and Scheduling Epic-related build/workflows for multi-department and/or specialty service line.
  • Experience with program development including analytical skills to provide sound recommendations.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, and Word; ability to teach/train these programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to express ideas clearly in speech and writing.
  • Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage partnerships; to address challenging problems.
  • Strong confidentiality of patient information and alignment with UCDHS mission.

Job description

Under the direction of the Engagement Manager, the Project Policy Analyst Supervisor 2 position at Patient Contact Center (PCC) provides direct supervision and guidance to the Implementation Team (PPA4s and PPA2s). This position will supervise the implementation team to ensure Ambulatory Access related projects are completed with accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with the organization's priorities and goals.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Progressive leadership experience in health system administration, health care planning, public administration, or a satisfactorily equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in leading analytical professional teams to successful results.
  • Experience and expertise in implementing Referral and Scheduling Epic-related build and workflows for multi- department and/or specialty service line.
  • Experience with program development including analytical and program evaluation skills to effectively provide sound recommendations, continually examines systems and develops or revises to accommodate change requirements.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Advance technical skills in Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, and Word and ability to teach and train these programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to express ideas assertively, respectfully and concisely both orally an din writing. Ability to exercise tactful diplomacy in dealing with others to secure necessary information and cooperation from a variety of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and develop/manage partnerships, seeking input from others, and creating ad hoc teams as required to address challenging problems.
  • Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, and resolve problems.
  • Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality of hospital and patient information at all times.
  • Can articulate and support the UCDHS mission, vision, and values as well as departmental goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Cadence, Ambulatory, Tapestry, or Prelude Epic accreditation/certification
  • Supervisory/people management experience of 2+ years
  • Experience in an Academic institution or large integrated health system.

Department Overview

The Patient Contact Center (PCC) is a centralized contact center providing patient service support via telephone (inbound and outbound), Epic, messaging and work queue systems. The PCC is responsible for more than 30% of all appointment and service engagements across UCDH ambulatory division. Service of patient appointments are supported with dynamic guidelines and process flows (which can include systematic decision tree workflows). We proactively support our ambulatory partners with change needs as possible.
