Job summary

Stratus in San Francisco is seeking a Project Operations Analyst to support project managers and business leaders in day-to-day operations, forecasting, and cost management. This role provides critical financial insights and performance reporting to drive improved outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands-on project setup, EAC analysis, and alignment with company policies, while contributing to templates and tools that streamline delivery across markets.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in project controls, operations coordination, or PMO support within AEC or professional services.
• Hands-on experience supporting PMs with project setup, cost management, and forecasting.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
• Proficiency with ERP platforms such as Deltek Vantagepoint, Oracle, or similar systems.
• Working knowledge of PMI project management frameworks and lifecycle.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across project teams and business units.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with project setup, cost tracking, forecasting, EAC analysis, and project reviews.
• Monitor portfolio performance including margin variance, unbilled, and A/R; collaborate with PMs to address issues.
• Provide financial and operational analysis to leadership to support decision-making.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, quarterly forecasts, and preliminary project budgets for markets or units.
• Assist with opportunity tracking, pricing models, and risk management activities.
• Serve as a day-to-day resource for PMs and ensure compliance with policies and tools.
• Develop job aids and templates to streamline project delivery workflows.
• Collaborate with finance and operations to ensure accurate project data in ERP and reporting systems.

The Role

We are seeking a Project Operations Analyst to provide hands-on support to project managers and business leaders across day-to-day operational and project delivery activities. This role is a critical resource for PMs navigating project setup, forecasting, and cost management, while also supporting leadership with financial analysis and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with project setup, cost tracking, forecasting, estimate at completion (EAC) analysis, and project reviews
• Monitor project portfolio performance including margin variance, unbilled, and A/R, and partner with PMs to address issues proactively
• Provide financial and operational analysis to division and market leadership to support decision-making and performance improvement
• Prepare monthly financial reports, quarterly forecasts, and preliminary project budgets for assigned markets or business units
• Assist with opportunity and pursuit tracking, project execution pricing models, and risk management activities
• Serve as a day-to-day resource and advocate for project managers, providing guidance on company policies, procedures, and project delivery tools
• Develop job aids, tracking tools, and templates that simplify project delivery workflows and improve PM compliance
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely project data in ERP and reporting systems

Qualifications

Required

• 4-7 years of experience in project controls, operations coordination, or PMO support within AEC or professional services
• Hands-on experience supporting PMs with project setup, cost management, and forecasting
• Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance reporting

Preferred

• Experience developing cost management tracking tools or operational dashboards
• Background in individual training or coaching project managers on financial performance
• Familiarity with AEC industry project delivery models and market structures
