RockBridge Search is seeking a Project Manager with wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) construction experience to lead complex infrastructure projects in Raleigh, NC. You will oversee preconstruction through closeout, coordinating owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and leadership to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
The role requires strong organization, proactive communication, and the ability to manage multifaceted plans with tight deadlines.
Some construction projects are impressive. Others are essential.
This is the second kind.
We are looking for a Project Manager with wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) construction experience who knows how to take a complicated project, a mountain of moving pieces, and a very real deadline, then turn it all into a successful finished product. You'll be responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while coordinating owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal leadership.
If you enjoy construction that requires brains, organization, communication, and just enough stubbornness to keep a project moving when the unexpected inevitably shows up, this could be your kind of role.
As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of the project's financial, contractual, administrative, and operational performance. You'll work closely with the Superintendent and project team to establish schedules, budgets, procurement plans, subcontractor strategies, and execution plans that keep the project moving in the right direction.
Your responsibilities will include:
We're looking for someone who understands that successful project management is about considerably more than moving paperwork from one pile to another.
You should have demonstrated experience managing wastewater treatment plant, water/wastewater, heavy civil, utility, or similarly complex infrastructure construction projects . You know how to read plans, understand contracts, track the money, communicate with the field, and keep an owner informed without turning every conversation into a fire drill.
The ideal candidate will bring:
You don’t have to be boring to be organized.
We want a Project Manager who can walk into a complicated situation, figure out what actually matters, communicate the plan, and get people moving. Someone who can talk schedule with the Superintendent, costs with accounting, contracts with the owner, and construction details with the field team without needing a translator.
You’re proactive rather than reactive. You ask questions early. You spot problems before they become expensive. You understand that relationships matter, but so do deadlines, budgets, documentation, and results.
Most importantly, you take ownership.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure projects that serve growing communities , while joining a team that understands good construction requires both strong field execution and strong project leadership.
This is a role for a Project Manager who wants to be involved, make decisions, build relationships, solve problems, and see the tangible results of their work.
If you know WWTP construction, understand what it takes to manage complex projects, and are ready for a position where your experience actually gets put to work, this is worth a conversation.
