Position: Project Manager - Water & Wastewater

Our New England Civil Infrastructure Group is a well-respected and award-winning team where career development, training, and mentoring coexist with diverse civil, environmental, and transportation projects in a fast-paced environment. Recognized by Zweig for rapid growth, we seek a talented Project Manager to lead our Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice in the New England area. The role involves providing technical leadership for utility design projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, and water distribution systems. Candidates should meet all criteria of a Senior Project Engineer. The responsibilities include:

Technical Management
  • Supervising and directing technical staff on complex and multiple projects.
  • Training and mentoring staff, including seminars and technical guidance.
  • Consulting on technical issues and reviewing projects for technical accuracy.
  • Participating in insurance training to minimize legal risks.
  • Working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ensuring project compliance with standards through regular communication and review.
  • Presenting technical information to clients and at public meetings.
Project Management
  • Initiating projects with proposals, scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Managing project execution, client communication, and team coordination.
  • Supervising interdisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
  • Providing technical advice and producing high-quality reports.
  • Engaging with clients to discuss projects and identify new opportunities.
Business and Fiscal Management
  • Tracking project costs and invoicing.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and managing project budgets.
Marketing and Business Development
  • Promoting the company's capabilities and building relationships.
  • Developing marketing materials and proposals.
  • Participating in client meetings and negotiations.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Managing and developing project staff.
  • Coordinating workload and resources.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; 9+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 8+ years. Registration as a Professional Engineer or equivalent is required. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills are essential.
