Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager for our Water/Wastewater group. In this senior role, you will lead project delivery on multi‑million dollar water infrastructure programs, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, safety and client satisfaction.

You will manage staffing, coordinate multi‑discipline teams, and partner with clients to win work and drive performance. A PE license, 10+ years of program/project management in water/linear infrastructure, and strong business development skills are

Qualifications

  • PE license is required or strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of program/project management experience.
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment and linear infrastructure planning.
  • Business development and client relationship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team efforts for marketing and client engagement.
  • Manage all aspects of small to medium EPC/Service projects including risk, cost, schedule, quality, safety and client satisfaction.
  • Staff and develop project teams; coordinate multi‑discipline activities across engineering, procurement, construction and startup.
  • Own and drive project performance goals, budgets, invoicing and payments; lead performance reviews.
  • mentor and develop staff and identify candidates to expand the team.

TheProject Manager position is a high‑profile leadership role at Black & Veatch. In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to serve as part of the Water / Wastewater business leadership team. As part of the Texascollaborative team, you willbe responsible formanaging the successful delivery of water-related infrastructure projects in the multi‑million‑dollar range.

As theProject Manager you will:

  • Manage all aspects of small Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality
  • Be responsible forthe day‑to‑day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction
  • Provide for the successful staffing of the project
  • Manage and lead small teams of multi‑disciplined professionals
  • Coordinate and integrate the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of allthird‑partycompanies contributing to the initiative

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading team efforts for marketing
  • Prospect identification, proposal development, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for successful opportunities
  • Accountable for new businessobjectivesand for overall project performance

Project management:

  • External focus to interact with assigned clients, become involved in client activities and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities
  • Support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, client engagement strategies andleverageother Black & Veatch technical and management resources to advance Black & Veatch’s market footprint
  • Oversight of engineering manager(s)
  • Development of project performance goals
  • Accountability for implementation
  • Active involvement with internal project team and owner project representatives on project activities
  • Perform orassistwith the performance and commercial management of projects including budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews for assigned project(s)

Staff management:

  • Team development,mentoringand coaching on performance improvement
  • Recommendations for training and promotion of assigned professionals as well as identification and development of new candidates to expand the Black & Veatch team
Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 10+ years program/project management experience, technicalexperienceand background
  • Technical experience in water and wastewater treatment as well as linear infrastructure planning and design: planning & asset management; and other key elements of our client’s diverse water needs.
  • Business development and program/project management experience
