Job summary

T2 Utility Engineers in Palatine, IL is seeking a Project Manager to mentor team members and collaborate with clients and design teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. You will coordinate tasks, manage schedules, and uphold quality standards across all project phases.

The role emphasizes strong communication, relationship building, and a proactive approach to growth and client satisfaction, with opportunities to lead QA/QC efforts and drive project success.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in civil engineering; 4–7 years’ civil/related field experience or 6–8 years in engineering/related field.
• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer or in the process of obtaining PE.
• Strong networking ability to obtain growth KPIs for new business and key clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; supervisory and mentoring capability; attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with clients to obtain work.
• Develops and maintains relationships with existing and new clients.
• Reports on client and competitor activities and initiates action.
• Monitors and evaluates the activities of the competition.
• Prepares business activity and forecast reports.
• Supports the local office or regional marketing efforts.
• Works with the proposal team and responds to RFIs and proposals.
• Prepares work plans, assembles project teams, delegates tasks, and ensures scope compliance and timely completion.
• Reviews and approves design calculations submittals, specifications and other submittals.
• Initiates, prepares, reviews, and participates in proposals, rate and staff hour estimates and negotiations.
• May serve as representative of T2 at client meetings.
• Oversees QA/QC to ensure accurate, high-quality deliverables.
