Job summary

Allegiance Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead underground utilities and electrical infrastructure projects across the Southeast. You will own schedules, budgets, and client communications while coordinating field teams, subcontractors, and engineers on complex site developments.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and proactive risk management, with a clear pipeline of Southeast work and long-term growth opportunities within the expanding specialty

Qualifications

  • PM experience in construction
  • Experience with underground utilities, electrical infrastructure, site development or heavy civil construction
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specs
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules and costs

Responsibilities

  • Manage underground utility construction projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Take responsibility for project schedules, budgets, cost control and overall financial performance
  • Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and other project stakeholders
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications and construction documents
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor production, quality and safety
  • Manage procurement and track material and equipment requirements
  • Prepare and review project estimates, budgets and forecasts
  • Manage contracts, change orders and project documentation
  • Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify project risks and resolve operational issues to maintain schedule and budget
  • Provide project reporting and updates to senior leadership

Job description

A well-established specialty contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support its continued growth across the Charlotte market and wider Southeast.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with experience across underground utilities, electrical infrastructure, site development or heavy civil construction to take ownership of complex projects while joining a business with a strong regional pipeline.

Projects involve a range of underground infrastructure scopes, including conduit systems, duct banks, manholes, site lighting and directional drilling.

Responsibilities
  • Manage underground utility construction projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Take responsibility for project schedules, budgets, cost control and overall financial performance
  • Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and other project stakeholders
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications and construction documents
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor production, quality and safety
  • Manage procurement and track material and equipment requirements

Requirements
  • Previous Project Management experience within construction
  • Experience within underground utilities, electrical infrastructure, site development or heavy civil construction
  • Strong understanding of construction operations and safety requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules and costs
  • Strong subcontractor, supplier and field coordination experience
  • Excellent leadership, organization and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with construction management software preferred
  • Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related degree beneficial but not required
  • Valid driver's license
