Job summary

KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance projects from planning through field execution.

You will coordinate project teams and subcontractors, manage schedules and budgets, and communicate with clients and regulators. The role requires travel to projects nationwide including Texas; you will review technical reports, develop scopes of work, and ensure adherence to CERCLA, RCRA, and UST

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
  • Experience managing environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, compliance, and/or O&M projects.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations and regulatory programs.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and evaluate technical reports, work plans, proposals, and other project documentation.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and multiple projects, including schedules, budgets, costs, deliverables, and invoicing.
  • Forecast project costs and monitor financial performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental investigation, assessment, remediation, compliance, and related O&M projects.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, field personnel, and subcontractors; delegate assignments and coordinate field activities.
  • Manage subcontracts and subcontractor performance, including coordination and resolution of issues.
  • Review technical reports, work plans, field documentation, and other deliverables; coordinate remedial activities.
  • Apply knowledge of environmental regulations including CERCLA, RCRA, UST requirements.
  • Serve as primary contact for clients and regulators; communicate project status and actions.
  • Manage multiple projects; oversee schedules, budgets, costs, staffing, invoicing and forecasts.
  • Prepare and review work plans, proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work.
  • Identify project risks; support QA/QC and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other project-related duties.

POSITION SUMMARY:

KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage environmental investigation, remediation, compliance, and related operation and maintenance projects. The Project Manager is responsible for projects from planning and assessment through field execution and remediation, including coordination of project teams and subcontractors, management of schedules and budgets, and communication with clients and regulators.


Frequent overnight and out-of-state travel is required for projects throughout TN, KY, NC, SC, VA, WV, TX, and other locations based on project needs. Project locations, schedules, durations, and start dates will vary.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:


  • Manage environmental investigation, assessment, remediation, compliance, and related operation and maintenance projects.

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, field personnel, and subcontractors; delegate assignments and coordinate field activities based on project needs and schedules.

  • Manage subcontracts and subcontractor performance, including coordination and resolution of performance or contractual issues.

  • Review technical reports, work plans, field documentation, and other project deliverables, and coordinate environmental investigation and remedial activities.

  • Apply knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and programs, including CERCLA, RCRA, and UST requirements as applicable to assigned projects.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and regulators and communicate project status, technical issues, and required actions.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including schedules, budgets, costs, staffing, deliverables, invoicing, and forecasts of estimated costs to complete.

  • Prepare and review work plans, proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work for assessment, remediation, and related project activities.

  • Identify project risks and support quality assurance/quality control while ensuring compliance with applicable KEMRON safety, quality, technical, and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related scientific discipline.

  • Experience managing environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, compliance, and/or operation and maintenance projects.

  • Working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and regulatory programs.

  • Ability to prepare, review, and evaluate technical reports, work plans, proposals, and other project documentation.

  • Ability to manage subcontractors and multiple projects, including schedules, budgets, costs, deliverables, and invoicing.

  • Ability to forecast project costs and monitor project financial performance.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) registration.

  • Current 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and applicable annual refresher training.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must be able to support field activities at project sites, including occasional extended or multi‑day assignments as project needs require.

  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying or inclement weather conditions and traverse varying types of terrain, often on foot.

  • May work in environments involving dust, hazardous materials, moving vehicles, and mechanical equipment and must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when required.

  • Must be able to meet applicable medical monitoring and drug screening requirements.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Frequent overnight and out-of-state travel is required.

  • Projects may be located throughout TN, KY, NC, SC, VA, WV, TX, and other locations based on project needs.

  • Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required based on project needs.
