Primoris T&D Services, LLC is seeking a Substation Project Manager to oversee Substation construction projects from initiation through closeout. You will support planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution while ensuring compliance with standards, safety, and customer expectations.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of PM experience in substations or utilities, plus familiarity with project management tools.
Primoris T&D provides construction, maintenance, and engineering of electric Transmission, Distribution, and Substation infrastructure. Ancillary services include wireless telecommunication installation, environmental cleanup, project management, and storm restoration services. The Substation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing Substation construction projects from initiation through closeout. This role supports the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of assigned projects while ensuring compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations. The Project Manager works under moderate supervision and collaborates closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field required OR minimum 7+ years of project management experience in Substation construction, utilities, or infrastructure. Experience working with project management and analytical tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Power BI, Excel, MS Project, or Primavera). Field experience is a plus EPC experience is a plus Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Understanding construction project lifecycle, progress tracking, and cost management principles. Ability to generate change orders themselves and manage them through execution. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and other project management tools. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong commitment to customer needs and project delivery excellence.
